Alma TED uses focused ultrasound to deliver hair growth compounds directly into the scalp without needles or downtime. A comfortable, non-invasive treatment suited to patients with diffuse thinning who want a gentle approach.
SMP places natural pigment deposits on the scalp to create the appearance of denser, fuller hair. Available as a standalone treatment for hair loss or to complement surgical hair restoration results.
Physician-Supervised Medical Therapy
An FDA-approved oral medication that works by blocking the enzyme that converts Testosterone into Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) – the hormone responsible for male pattern hair loss. Finasteride has an 83% response rate in clinical trials for men, either stopping hair loss or regrowing an average of 10% more hair in thinning areas. Prescribed and monitored by Dr. Keene.

The drive from central Scottsdale to Physician’s Hair Institute in Tucson is approximately 115 miles via Interstate 10; about 1 hour and 45 minutes depending on traffic. The majority of PHI’s out-of-area patients make the trip without difficulty. Here is what to plan for.
After your virtual consultation, if you decide to move forward, an in-person visit allows Dr. Keene to perform a physical evaluation of your scalp, measure donor density, and confirm the surgical plan. For many patients, this visit can be combined with a same-day or next-day procedure, reducing the total number of trips required.
Hair transplant procedures at PHI typically run 6 to 8 hours depending on graft count. Patients usually arrive in the morning and are done by early afternoon. Because of the procedure duration and the recommendation against driving immediately after, most out-of-area patients arrange overnight accommodation in Tucson and drive back the following morning. Tucson has a wide range of hotels within 10 minutes of the clinic; the team can provide recommendations during your consultation.
Most post-procedure follow-up can be handled remotely via photos and video calls. An in-person follow-up visit at approximately 10 to 14 days post-procedure is recommended for patients who are able to return, but Dr. Keene can assess healing remotely for out-of-area patients when needed.

For a combined consultation and procedure trip: most patients plan 2 to 3 days. Day 1: in-person consultation and pre-operative preparation.
